Village Books is a community-based, independent bookstore located in the Historic Fairhaven district of Bellingham, Washington, where it was awarded the 1995 Tourism Business of the Year, was a finalist in 2008 for Whatcom County's Business of the Year and, on November 20, was honored as the 2008 Outstanding Philanthropic Small Business in Washington State. Since 1980 the store has been building community, one book at a time.



The books one sees on the shelves are not automatically sent by publishers, nor are these titles chosen by someone in some remote office. They are carefully and personally chosen by Village Books' buyers right here in Bellingham. Years of experience with local customers and knowledge of local interests helps the buyers carefully select the books readers love.

Village Books is a place to meet friends, talk books, or just while away an hour or two.

During the Holiday Season Village Books is offering FREE shipping on orders of $40.00 or more placed online. Books ordered online may be shipped, at no charge, to any location in the lower 48 states.
